A cancer diagnosis can be very overwhelming for patients and families. The Patient Navigator at The Steeplechase Cancer Center helps patients through the complex maze of treatments, tests, doctors’ appointments and survivorship issues. Services also include education and referrals to support groups and other community resources.

The Patient Navigator can:

• Help expedite appointments for surgery, oncology and radiation services
• Direct you to local resources and support, such as palliative care, pain management, complementary medicine, transportation, wig and prosthesis fittings and support groups
• Work with you and our multidisciplinary team to develop an individualized plan of care to guide you through diagnosis, treatment and recovery
• Get answers to your questions to help you better understand your diagnosis and treatment options
• Ensure seamless care from detection through survivorship
• Offer ongoing support as needed
